Climate protection measures such as CO2<\/sub> removal<\/a> will decisively shape our society. So far, however, they only occupy a marginal place in the school context and do not follow a systematic approach. However, this is important in order to provide students with knowledge for dealing with climate change<\/a> and to enable them to make fact-based decisions. In this way, we can promote a social discourse based on data and arguments rather than emotions or skepticism.<\/p>\n

But how can we bring (climate) research findings into the classroom? And in what ways can social and socio-scientific problems (for example, with regard to the consequences of technology, risk assessment, or global justice issues) be adequately addressed in schools?<\/p>\n

To discuss these questions with teachers, CDRterra organized an interdisciplinary workshop in the beginning of october at the Studienstiftung’s seminar house in Sch\u00f6nwag, Upper Bavaria. There, we worked with participants from different disciplines to design methods and concepts for teaching and to lay the foundation for developing teaching materials that address the role of CDR<\/a> measures in addressing current global problems such as climate change.<\/p>\n

The teaching methods designed in this workshop will be presented to a larger group of teachers at an educational conference in October 2023 and subsequently made available for classroom use.<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n
