Proven CO\u2082 removal methods such as afforestation will not be enough to remove enough carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to achieve our climate targets. At the same time, new chemical-technical solutions will have to be used. CDRterra scientists are investigating the feasibility, potential and risks of three of these new methods: artificial photosynthesis, climate-friendly building materials and the capture of carbon dioxide from the ambient air with subsequent long-term storage (Direct Air Carbon Capture and Storage, DACCS).
