Results of the First CDRterra Research Phase
Four years, ten collaborative projects, over 100 researchers—here we present the key findings from the first CDRterra research phase. They show the potential contribution of land-based CO₂ removal and the political, legal, and societal decisions required to make it possible.
The CDRterra Synthesis Factsheet
The synthesis factsheet “Potentials and Risks of Land-Based CO₂ Removal in Germany: What We Now Know – and What Needs to Be Done” brings together the findings of the ten research consortia from the first CDRterra research phase (2021–2025). It outlines which CO₂ removal methods are realistically deployable, the barriers to scaling them up, and the political, technical, and societal conditions required for Germany to responsibly meet its climate targets.
The factsheet is only available in German.
