New educational brochure brings carbon removal into classrooms

CDRterra-Bildungsbroschüre 2

Research students can experience firsthand

With its second educational brochure, CDRterra provides teachers with updated classroom materials on Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR). The publication combines hands-on scientific experiments with clearly explained background knowledge on CDR methods on land and in the ocean. The aim is direct classroom use: students should not only understand processes theoretically, but explore them in practice.

Complement to the foundational volume

The new edition builds on the first brochure, which was designed as a structured introduction to the topic. It provides core knowledge, explains key terminology, and systematically presents land-based carbon removal approaches. While the first volume focuses on orientation and conceptual understanding, the second expands the portfolio with experimental activities and additional subject perspectives.

Scientifically robust, classroom-ready

Both brochures are based on the research conducted within the CDRterra programme, in which more than 100 scientists across ten collaborative projects investigate methods for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The materials are designed to help teachers address a complex and politically relevant topic in a factual, evidence-based and accessible way.

Would you like to get an overview of the topic of carbon dioxide removal and learn how you can introduce it into your lessons? We recommend the first issue of our CDRterra educational brochure.
