Launch of the 2nd edition of the State of CDR Report

What is the state of CO₂ removal worldwide? Where is which action needed? The report “The State of Carbon Dioxide Removal” provides an independent, scientific assessment of the global state of play on CO₂ removal. The second edition of the study will be published on Tuesday, 4 June 2024. It will include updated data, expanded global coverage and a new chapter on monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV). Several researchers from CDRterra projects are involved in the “State of CDR Report”, including

  • Prof Dr Julia Pongratz, coordinator of CDRterra from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich
  • Dr Oliver Geden (executive team “State of CDR Report”) and Dr Felix Schenuit from the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin
  • Dr Jan Minx (State of CDR Report executive team), Prof Sabine Fuss, Dr Sarah Lück and Dr Tim Repke from the Mercator Research Institute on Commons and Climate Change (MCC) in Berlin.
  • and Dr Jessica Strefler from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK)
